Enjoy Yoga

1901 Newport Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA

Somewhere along the way, we got really good at being serious. Always performing, managing, and staying in control - knowing who we’re expected to be and sticking to that script.

Play got left behind.

This mini retreat is a chance to find your way back to a kind of play that loosens something in you. Play that lets you forget, for a moment, why things got so serious.

You’re invited to an afternoon filled with yoga, relaxing breathwork, and guided meditation, woven together with improv and hands-on creative games. No need to be productive or get anything right.

It’s about being a little more flexible, a little more curious, a little more surprised by yourself and the people around you.

You don’t need any experience or expertise - we’ll just show up together, try something new, and have fun.

Schedule

1:30pm - 2:20pm: We’ll get introduced, then Wendy will lead a gentle, light-hearted flow, designed for all levels. This practice will help you loosen up from the inside out, setting the stage for some joyful creativity.

2:20pm - 2:30pm: Break

2:30pm - 3:20pm: RECESS! We’ll get into groups, and Danny and Casey will lead activities inspired by the playful spark you experienced as a kid on the playground.

3:20pm - 3:30pm: Relaxing breathwork and guided meditation for integration and opening your imagination.

3:30pm - 3:40pm: Break

3:40pm - 4:30pm: Danny and Casey invite you to put on your inventing caps and explore what’s possible. You’ll challenge rules and assumptions while creating something together that the world has never seen before!

Narrative Flow Yoga: practicing play is a collaboration between therapists Danny Livingston and Casey Tucker, and yoga instructor Wendy Livingston.

Together, we’ve created an experience that honors the wisdom of the body and the power of story. You’ll leave this afternoon with new perspectives and permission to loosen your grip on seriousness and productivity.

We’re excited to share a playful afternoon with you!

For Wendy, learning to teach yoga felt like learning to speak a new language straight from her heart. With more than fifteen years of practice, her teaching style draws from the Desikachar lineage as well as Bhakti-inspired yoga, restorative practices, and the wisdom she’s gathered from teachers, poets, and storytellers of many backgrounds. She aims to create an inclusive space for connection, healing, and transformation, offering movement, breathwork, and meditation as tools to calm the mind and reconnect with your true nature. Off the mat, Wendy balances her full-time work in marketing with making art, walking on the beach, and spending time with family.

Danny’s journey to becoming a therapist certainly wasn’t linear, but he now finds tremendous purpose in walking alongside clients as they make discoveries and navigate challenges. He believes that our understanding of change and healing must continue to expand and evolve, which inspired him to co-create Narrative Flow Yoga.

Danny’s a full-time therapist at California Family Institute in Costa Mesa, supervised by Dr. Chris Hoff, LMFT #53081. When he’s not working with clients, you’ll find him writing music, reading, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Casey’s path to psychology began on the stage; her background in acting instilled in her a profound interest in people’s stories. Now an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, she translates that lifelong curiosity into a creative, collaborative, and compassionate practice.

She is passionate about helping adult individuals and couples clarify and live out their values. In addition to her clinical work, Casey currently runs a support group exploring the complexities of dating and relationships. She has a particular interest in helping clients navigate relational issues, cultivate self-compassion, and untangle the weight of perfectionism and comparison through a Narrative lens. She’s employed by California Family Institute, and supervised by Elizabeth Armstrong, MA, LMFT, #111154.

Casey strives to create a safe, welcoming environment where clients feel truly understood as they explore their history and write their next chapter. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, zoology, board games, and spending time outdoors.
